Troop 618 is proud to receive the Scouting's "Journey to Excellence" Gold award for 2023. Scouting's Journey to Excellence is the BSA's planning, performance, and recognition program designed to encourage and reward the success of our units, districts and councils. It is meant to encourage excellence in providing a quality program at all levels of the BSA.

Troop 618 as a "Boy's Run" troop, led by elected Scout leaders with the guidance of the adult leadership, will always strive to follow the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) principles.

Mission Statement of BSA

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Vision Statement of BSA

The Boy Scouts of America is the nation's foremost youth program of character development and value-based leadership training.

Troop 618 continues to educate and promote leadership skills thru the BSA "EDGE" method. EDGE is an effective process for training that guides two-way communication between the trainer and the learner.

E-Explain D-Demonstrate G-Guide E-Enable

From our adult leaders to our Scouts, these principles are used in all aspects of Scouting within our troop.
